You do! To ensure your work experience is in a type of work you are interested in, we strongly recommend you find your own placement.  This can be with a member of your family, a family friend or by approaching companies found in a local directory such as Yellow Pages.

Students who find placements outside Calderdale and Kirklees must tell school as soon as possible, so that other agencies in that area can be contacted to carry out important health, safety and welfare assessments.  Agencies in other areas may charge for this service.

If you can't find a placement our work experience team will try and find you a placement based upon the information in your application form. 

There  may be occasions when companies are not thought to be right for an individual or for young people to go on placement.  This is sometimes due to such things as the type of work, lack of supervision or the lack of health and safety arrangements.
