Eddie, aged 20, told us about his search for a job after he decided not to continue with his A levels:
After my AS Levels I decided that further education was not for me,
however I stayed in weekly contact with my Connexions adviser from
school.
I went into the local Connexions centre a few times, but mostly I
checked the Connexions website [workabout job vacancies], where I was able to jot down available
jobs. I then followed these up by calling Connexions for more
information.
I applied for numerous jobs, two of which where I made the interview
stage.
I successfully got a job as a customer service advisor at Niko
Distribution Ltd [Halifax] that specialise in bathroom equipment. In my four years
at Niko I have made significant progress within the company and have
received a promotion to sales administrator.
I would recommend Connexions to absolutely any young person searching
for a job. They were extremely helpful through the entire process and I
think I would still be searching for a job with out there support.

Before you leave a course part way through, make sure you talk to your teachers, family and Personal Adviser about all the issues.
