Sarah Reynolds, the recruitment consultant at HBOS told us about her recruit Lucy Brownridge:

Lucy left school after completing her A levels in Psychology, English Language, Geography, ICT and General Studies. Lucy had planned on going to university but changed her mind and decided to find a job instead. Lucy did some temporary contract work through Kellys and was placed at the HBOS Trinity Road site to work on the switchboard. Lucy was looking for permanent work and found the customer service representative job on workabout's job vacancies section whilst using the site to job hunt in general. Lucy applied to HBOS and was successful in 2008.

Lucy was attracted to the role as she already had some telephone and customer service experience and wanted something a bit more in depth than the switchboard role. She also wanted a job that would lead to a career.

Lucy currently takes calls from our customers who ring us with enquiries about their insurance policies and even though she is very new to the role she is already hitting all her targets. Lucy likes the depth of the role and being able to resolve the customer’s query.

Lucy’s next career step is to be trained in dealing with customers' insurance claims. Lucy did not have a specific career in mind, however she was excited about the career development and progression available within HBOS General Insurance and thought she might like to work in a support area, such as customer care (where they deal with any customer complaints).
