What should
you include in your letter of application? |
<<Back |
If you are asked for a letter of application, you could
either write a short covering
letter and also send your CV or write a longer letter
that includes the information that you would usually
include on your CV.
- Plan what you want to say
- Do a rough version first
- Keep the wording simple and stick to the point
- Leave out anything that won’t help you get
the job
- Include the job title and any reference number,
if you know it
- List the things normally included in your CV that
match what the employer's looking for – this
might be your qualifications, skills, experience,
voluntary work...
- Say why you want to work for this company
- Ring to see if your letter has arrived... You
can also ask when they will be letting you know if
you have been short listed for an interview
Remember:
below is an example letter only. Have a go at
writing a letter of your own showing what you
can do - be truthful and only include things you
are happy saying. |
