Gerald HeyCalderdale & Kirklees Careers is a social enterprise not-for-profit company limited by guarantee. Any surpluses are used to develop the services provided to all our customers.

We have been delivering high quality information, advice and guidance services to both young and old alike since 1995 with the key aim of reducing the number of local people not in employment, education or training.

Our Board of Directors

Our Directors are three appointed members of staff from each of the

partner members: Calderdale and Kirklees Local Authorities, National Children's Centre and the University of Huddersfield, plus two independent directors.

The Chair of the Board is Cllr Molly Walton and the Chief Executive is Mr Gerald Hey (pictured above).

Mission Statement:

Helping people to realise their full career and learning potential.

Values:

  • involving users in the design, delivery and governance of our service
  • working with other providers to deliver a better service to our users
  • providing independent and impartial advice and advocating on behalf of our users
  • treating staff and users with honesty, openness and respect
  • valuing diversity, innovation and excellence.

Detail of Services:

Working under contract to both Calderdale and Kirklees Councils and in partnership with
specialist organisations, C&K Careers brings together a range of Connexions services in schools, colleges and through Connexions Centres that can help young people in all aspects of their lives including careers, education, health, money and housing.

Through Next Step the Careers 4 Adults division of C&K Careers also provides employment-related careers, education and training information, advice and guidance to adults over the age of 19. Careers 4 Adults and Connexions services are available from Connexions Centres in Huddersfield, Halifax and Dewsbury.
