Work experience is a valued careers activity for students
14+ enabling them to learn skills for work and make
their first contribution to the workplace. In Calderdale
and Kirklees almost 8,000 students participate every
year on one or two week placements with local companies.
For
many companies in the area, work experience offers the
opportunity to try out a young person before considering
them for a job or apprenticeship.
Can you help us and local schools by offering a placement
in your company? – Be part of our successful work
experience programme. With the support of local employers,
we offer students the chance to have a safe, enjoyable
and meaningful placement. Find out about getting involved

In early 2008, work experience providers responded
to a survey forwarded to all companies that had taken
students on work experience in 2007. A total of 668
companies responded to our
survey (1.86MB Adobe Acrobat).
