Quality Standards for Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance |

What does the assessment process involve?
Our consultants provide valued support to organisations going for assessment, currently at no cost. Initially all you have to do is to apply.
Before the assessment begins we will make sure you have all the information you need. Consultancy support and assessment dates are pre-arranged to suit you. At least three weeks before we begin you will be asked to complete our online self-audit of careers, education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) provision.
During the assessment itself, we will ask to talk to a few key people in your organisation to build up a picture of your CEIAG provision, including the:
- Effectiveness of your leadership, management, resourcing and programming of CEIAG
- Importance of professional development for your CEIAG staff
- Involvement of young people in the design, development and delivery of Careers and Personal Development
- Your partnerships with:
| - the local Connexions service
- and other external agencies |
- Involvement of parents/carers in your CEIAG process
- Quality of your information provision
The
Assessment Team then submits a report to the Quality Standards steering group, which considers the Team's recommendations and makes a decision.
Institutions are awarded the Quality Standards or given a
Development Plan to help them achieve the Standards.
