Sensory impairment

<<Back

Our LDD team PAs see young people who are blind or partially sighted and/or are deaf or hard of hearing in mainstream schools (Resourced Provision) or in special schools and colleges in Calderdale and Kirklees. Resourced Provision provides young people with specialist support in mainstream or special schools.

Students with a sensory impairment can receive additional learning support from their school or college and the LDD team. Some young people may prefer to access provision specifically aimed at those with hearing and/or sight problems.

Below is specialist information for young people with sight and/or hearing problems and their parents and carers. For information aimed at ALL young people with a learning difficulty and/or disability, as well as other disabilities or difficulties, see the other pages in the 'Supporting parents of children with LDD' section
