As part of Calderdale & Kirklees Careers,
C&K Training offers schools, colleges and post-16 training providers a comprehensive training and development programme, which
includes:
- conferences
- workshops
- bespoke sessions
- consultancy
In addition to the support C&K Training offers, it also runs
a local ‘Quality Standards in Careers Education, Information, Advice
and Guidance’ scheme to enable institutions to
evaluate and develop their CEIAG provision.
Our Quality Standards are in line with the National
Framework for Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG).

Quality, Choice and Aspiration, the national information, advice and guidance strategy aims to modernise IAG and careers education to make it accessible for today's generation of young people (1.72 MB Adobe Acrobat PDF). It attempts to keep pace with a rapidly changing economy. The strategy places schools, colleges and parents at the centre of IAG. Please note: this booklet is still available but does not reflect the current Government's policy, which is still being formulated.
The Statutory guidance - Impartial Careers Education advises headteachers about how to meet their careers education statutory duties. It identifies six principles of good quality impartial careers education (1.18 MB Adobe Acrobat PDF)

Schools are expected to monitor their performance against the principles and ensure that key information on A levels, Apprenticeships, Diplomas, Foundation Learning, GCSEs, higher education, part-time learning or training is provided.
Ways & Choices lesson plans, which accompany the Statutory Guidance, are available in the Teaching and Learning section of Cegnet, along with a range of other materials.
